12:20 Pharaoh gave his men orders about Abram, ¹  and so they expelled him, along with his wife and all his possessions.

[42:19]  ² tn Heb “bound in the house of your prison.”

[42:19]  ³ tn The disjunctive clause is circumstantial-temporal.

[42:19]  ⁴ tn Heb “[for] the hunger of your households.”

[45:2]  ⁵ tn Heb “and he gave his voice in weeping,” meaning that Joseph could not restrain himself and wept out loud.

[45:2]  ⁶ tn Heb “and the Egyptians heard and the household of Pharaoh heard.” Presumably in the latter case this was by means of a report.

[47:13]  ⁷ tn The verb לַהַה (lahah, = לָאָה, la’ah) means “to faint, to languish”; it figuratively describes the land as wasting away, drooping, being worn out.
