[12:20]  1 tn Heb “him”; the referent (Abram) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

[42:19]  2 tn Heb “bound in the house of your prison.”

[42:19]  3 tn The disjunctive clause is circumstantial-temporal.

[42:19]  4 tn Heb “[for] the hunger of your households.”

[45:2]  5 tn Heb “and he gave his voice in weeping,” meaning that Joseph could not restrain himself and wept out loud.

[45:2]  6 tn Heb “and the Egyptians heard and the household of Pharaoh heard.” Presumably in the latter case this was by means of a report.

[47:13]  7 tn The verb לַהַה (lahah, = לָאָה, laah) means “to faint, to languish”; it figuratively describes the land as wasting away, drooping, being worn out.
